Giving Back to the Community

To help with the deforestation and hunger problem in Haiti, Nativita St. Louis (Natty), STAT Team Manager and the members of Centre Haitien D’Action Humanitaire (CEHAH), walked the walk and talked the talk. On May 24, 2018, Natty along with a group of volunteers and CEHAH members sprang into action and launched their Plante Lakay Manje Lakay Project (Plant Local Eat Local Project). The group traveled to Haiti with the goal of planting trees on donated land in Cabaret, Haiti. They were successfully planet 500 trees consisting of avocados, mangos, limes, cherries, coconuts a well as watermelons vines. The work didn’t stop there. On May 26, 2018, CEHAH’s members held a fundraising event at the Marriott in Turgeau, Haiti, to start raising funds Getting Involved and Giving Back

for an irrigation system to ensure the success of the Plante Lakay Manje Lakay project. CEHAH is a 501c3 Not-for-Profit organization registered in the United States, Canada and Haiti. CEHAH works at the intersection of agriculture, education and healthcare. One of CEHAH’s vision is a Haiti that is developed and is able to feed its hungry. Natty first joined CEHAH after she lost her mother in the 2010 earthquake that took over 250,000 lives. The need to help the people in Haiti quickly drew her to CEHAH because of their wonderful work and ethics. Since joining the organization, Natty has participated in many health fairs and back to school activities in Haiti; however, she is the most proud of the Plante

Lakay Manje Lakay Project. This experience has been the most rewarding to her because of its future impact to help feed the less fortunate. CEHAH is actively looking for assistance in obtaining the irrigation system to support completing this project in a timely fashion in order to help the people in desperate need who are still trying to recover from multiple devastating natural disasters.
